Brit,

Can we talk this weekend, either by phone or Skype?

I'd like to know if you've made any decisions on what kind of connection you want with me, if any. Your decisions will determine whether there's any need for or value to exchanging apologies, correcting misunderstandings, etc.

Thank you, --Yank

I have spent more than a week putting off replying to you, feeling sick the whole time.

I don't agree with your description/interpretation of things said and done in your examples given. I don't want to keep arguing over the past.

I'm not going to write a rebuttal because we simply don't agree. I certainly have made bad choices and have things to apologise to you for.

I thought we might be able to have a future as friends. But I don't feel that now, because this stuff will keep bubbling up.

I don't want to speak by phone or Skype. I only see more upset coming from that.

Brit,

Thank you for your reply.

I have re-written this email 7 times and this time I'm just going to leave it as it is.

You said that you have never met someone like me. You have described me as self-made and self-aware. You have told me you would like to improve your self-determination and self-awareness. All I can tell you is that turning away from difficult experiences and trying to avoid stuff bubbling up is the exact opposite of what it takes to build self-determination and self-awareness.

You haven't actually said the words but you've sent a strong message that you have closed the door between us.

I have not. I still love you, I still want to resolve our conflicts, I still want to live with you, I still want to be your man, I'm still willing to face every new conflict we run into.

But your choice has rendered what I want irrelevant.

So go out into the world and live your life as you choose, perhaps solo, perhaps with another man.

And if the life you choose still seems to be missing something, you know how to find me.

Brit,

Their leather shirts would look good on you, particularly the buckle front police shirt. Also some of the leather pants.

I haven't heard back about shipping to the UK but they have a couple leather men's kilts on Amazon.co.uk and they're marked as an international merchant.
